Hebrew months were 29 or 30 days each. Their year consisted of 12 lonar months or of 354 1/4 days. Therefore, about every three years (7 times in 19 years) the 13th month, Veador (also called, Second Adar), is added between Adar and Nisan. It is known as an "intercalary month".
